About the Kroon Family

This is our family portrait taken in the summer of 2001 when Kristina and I had our Senior Pictures.

Doug and Jan were married in 1981 after Doug had spent several years abroad in the Navy and Janet had taught many elementary students in four different states. Kristina came along in 1984, and Peter followed right behind fifteen months later. God led us as a family to home-school from kindergarten, and Kristina and Peter thrived at home. In 1993 we joined a home-school program called the Advanced Training Institute (ATI), and have been actively involved ever since. We moved from our home in Rockville, Maryland to Toledo, Ohio in 1997, where Kristina and Peter furthered their education at Toledo Christian Schools, Doug’s new place of work. They both graduated together in June, 2002. Kristina and Peter served for two years at the IBLP Headquarters in Oak Brook, IL, and are now starting college going through the Verity Education program. Janet has been keeping quite busy in their absence with her violin studio. She has over 40 students that come for lessons regularly. She also takes a big group each month to the local nursing home to play their instruments for the residents.
